Welcome to "T1 Car Racing Simulation" pages! Here is a short summary of the project, including a description, status, and some screenshots.

If you're interested in latest developments, you can take a look at the news section.

What is T1 Car Racing Simulation?

T1 Car Racing Simulation is a open source (GPL) 3D car racing game meant to be executable both under Linux, as well as under Windows using the Cygwin emulation layer. My primary development platform is Linux, but I promise to also test under Windows - at least at release times.

T1 Car Racing Simulation is primarily meant to be fun to play, not to be a full-featured exercise in physics. Expect a solid physics model with a lot of action and some cool graphics. ;-)

What is the current status of the game?

Currently, the game has just left the prototyping phase. It's still not playable though, except if you're really a fan :-). Please check the news section regularly, that's where all the new information shall be published. There is also an announcement mailing list - if you'd like to get T1 Car Racing Simulation news per e-mail, follow this link for details on how to subscribe.

A few screenshots can be seen here.

Where can I get it?

You can get the source tarball from here. Compiling it should not be a problem, just try the usual "./configure; make" (note: "make install" is not implemented yet). If it doesn't work for you, feel free to send me a mail to this address.

I'll provide binaries as soon as the game actually becomes playable.

Can I help?

Yes! I need as many nice low polygon count 3DS objects suitable for track scenery as I can get. If you have any you would like to share, I'll be happy to check them. Watch out not to put more than one object per 3DS file, my 3DS loader doesn't cope well with such files.

Also, if you manage to compile and run the game, it would be nice if you would drop me a line saying whether you ran into any problems and which frame rates you get.
